“And here are the contestants, the Doctor, Jack Harkness and the Doctor. Will the contestants please take their positions in the mud pit, please?” The voice continued.
Nine blinked. “You what? If ya think I’m getting in that pit and mudwrestling then you’ve got another think coming…”
Ten glared all around him. “I’m not getting in there.”
“What’s the matter, pretty boy, afraid of messing up your hair?” Nine sneered.
“No! Can you pick up BBC 3 with those?” Ten retorted, indicating Nine’s ears.
“You should know…” Nine replied, pushing Ten towards the mud pit.
“Shut up, you two!” Jack yelled, over their arguments.
“You have five minutes to get in the Mud Pit,” the voice ordered.
“An’ I told ya we ain’t goin’ in there,” Nine said, scowling.
“Well, the pit isn’t big enough for those ears to fit in there,” Ten muttered, loud enough for Nine to hear him, as the stood at the edge of the pit.
“Guys, surely we can sort this out rationally,” Jack tried. “Maybe when we get out of here?”
“He’s right.” Ten said, smiling at Jack. “Besides I think he wants to have a massive orgy for when we get out.”
“First things first, find Rose.” Nine agreed, “but before that,” he added with a mischievous smile, “I‘ve got to do this.” He pushed Ten backwards into the pit.
Ten grabbed Nine’s arm, pulling him back as well and they fell with a loud ‘squelch’ into the mud.
Jack stood at the edge, laughing, only to stop when the Doctors grabbed an ankle each and tugged him into the mud. Jack yelped in surprise but quietened when he got a mouthful of mud, with compliments from Nine. “Right, this is war!” Jack declared, launching a pile of mud at both of them.
